After an intense round of finals, I'm happy to be back with another Plastic Tree song! I like the persona in this song, with his cynical exterior and sort of whimsical imagination. I'm sure if he were a real person, he'd be pretty irritated that I just called his thoughts whimsical.

Translation: テトリス by Plastic Tree

This song reaffirms my belief that 有村竜太郎 (Plastic Tree's vocalist) can make anything work. Can mold anything into whatever he wants it to be. Here is a song about tetris and flowers born from ice and taking a certain pleasure in loss. Well, that's how I take it; you can decide for yourself.

The new addition to my translation archive in the making is 映せない姿、思い描く姿、by the Osaka indies band M. I know many people outside of Japan (or even in Japan) don't know who they are, but personally, I hope they'll be big.

Long time no see. Today I'm here with a translation of MERRY's This is really a cool song. It's rough and lovely, and will get stuck in your head. Not to mention the vocalist spits out the first couple of lines in the most awesome growling slur. And knowing the lyrics, of course, makes it better  ;)

Translation: The Cry Against... by MERRY

Hello again. This is a translation of MERRY's newest single, The Cry Against. This is their first release after announcing the overhaul of the band's image and sound almost three months ago, so most fans including me have been a bit desperate for it to come out. It is a very aggressive, choppy track lyrically and musically.

This song was done on request from an acquaintance; I didn't even know it existed until then! The song is a rather rare version of メリー's さよなら雨. I've posted the Japanese and romanized lyrics at the end, since I'm sure they're hard to find online.

Translation: 瞞し by The GazettE

Here is the third and final part of my big translation project. This was a special challenge for me; I attempted to translate the lyrics in a way that was both accurate, and singable with the original music. I got close to the goal, but unfortunately, if you actually sang my translation, there would be accents in some very strange places! I’ve posted the translation notes again, and if you’re a Japanese nerd like me, I think you might find them interesting. If not, take a look at the translation.
